Which thermostat do I need?
Match the thermostat to your Ice Eater's voltage — the KT16110 for 115V units and the KP16220 for 230V units.
Will it work with my first-generation Ice Eater?
Yes. Airmax lists the same thermostat part numbers for both the first- and second-generation Ice Eater.
Do I need an electrician to install it?
The thermostat itself simply plugs in. As with the Ice Eater, it should be connected to a properly grounded, GFCI-protected outlet — if you don't have power near your dock, use a licensed electrician to run it.
Can I use an extension cord between the thermostat and the outlet?
Airmax advises running power directly to the source without extension cords, which can void the Ice Eater's warranty. Choose an Ice Eater cord length that reaches your outlet.
