A broad, low-profile cast iron bowl reproduced from historic Southern sugar kettles, with a metal base stand. Built for custom wood-burning fire pits and oversized garden planters, in 28", 33", 37", and 48" diameters.
This painted bowl is not powder coated and will rust if used with water. For a fountain, choose our powder-coated Cast Iron Sugar Kettle Fountain Kit, which includes the basin, pump, and plumbing.
The open bowl shape makes a substantial outdoor focal point. Use it as a wood-burning fire feature, an oversized garden planter, or the foundation of a gas fire feature with lava rock, gas logs, or sand. This is a bowl-and-stand product only — fuel, burners, gas components, media, soil, plants, and liners are purchased separately. Have any gas system designed and installed by a qualified professional.

Is this a complete fire pit?
No — it's a bowl and stand. Firewood, burner hardware, gas components, media, screens, and tools are not included.
Can I make a fountain with it?
No. This painted bowl will rust with water. Choose the powder-coated Sugar Kettle Fountain Kit for a water feature.
Where is the drilled hole?
Blue Thumb lists the bowls as drilled but doesn't publish the hole's location or diameter. Call us and we'll confirm before you order if it matters for your plans.

Use outdoors only, follow local fire codes and burn restrictions, keep away from combustibles, never leave a fire unattended, and never use gasoline or liquid fuel to start a fire.
