Powder-Coated Cast Iron Sugar Kettle Fountain Kit
A classic Southern sugar kettle reproduced in cast iron and protected with a rust-resistant powder coat. Water fills the kettle and overflows its rim into a hidden basin — a complete kit in 28", 33", 37", and 48" diameters.
Sugar kettles — sometimes called syrup kettles — came from the large cotton and sugar plantations of the South, where these cast iron vessels were also used for cooking. Most original kettles were melted down for the war effort during World War II. Blue Thumb obtained some of these treasures and reproduced them faithfully in cast iron.
Unlike bare cast iron kettles that rust and stain, Blue Thumb's kettles are protected with a powder-coated finish. The kettle sits over a buried Aquabox basin; the pump pushes water up into the kettle, which fills and gently overflows its rim back into the basin for a soothing, continuous display.
Protective powder-coated finish keeps the kettle from rusting — unlike bare cast iron.

Will the cast iron kettle rust?
