How does the Power House Ice Eater work?
Its propeller draws warmer water up from below and circulates it at the surface, which prevents ice from forming and melts ice that's already there around your dock, boat, or marina.
Which model do I need?
It depends on the area you need to keep ice-free — the P250 covers roughly 20-25 ft, the P500 around 40 ft, the P750 around 60 ft, and the P1000 around 80 ft. Call us if you're between sizes.
How deep does the water need to be?
You'll want a minimum water depth of 36" with at least 12" of clearance between the unit and the bottom for it to perform properly.
Can I run it only when it's actually freezing?
Yes — pair it with the optional thermostat controller to run the unit automatically only when temperatures drop near freezing, which helps keep energy costs down.
