A pond fountain adds beauty and improves water quality at the same time — circulating the surface water, transferring oxygen back into the pond, and creating a display that transforms any backyard pond or lake. We carry pond fountains from 1/4 HP to 5 HP, covering ponds from small garden water features up to multi-acre commercial lakes. All orders ship free, and we'll match any advertised price.

Find the Right Pond Fountain by Pond Size

Choosing the right fountain starts with your pond size. A smaller fountain may look great, but it won't always provide enough movement in a larger pond, and going too big can overpower a small garden pond.

If you already know your pond size, you can start here:

If you're not exactly sure, that's normal — these will at least give you a good starting point. As pond size increases, the goal shifts from simply adding a visual feature to improving water circulation across a wider area, so many owners start by selecting fountains based on pond size before narrowing down specific models.

Decorative vs. Aerating Pond Fountains

Not all pond fountains are built the same. Decorative fountains are designed primarily for appearance — attractive spray patterns and visual movement, but typically moving less water. Aerating fountains move a higher volume of water while still creating a visible display, a better fit if you're also trying to improve circulation and reduce stagnant conditions.

Fountains mainly affect the upper portion of the pond. For deeper ponds or ongoing water quality issues, many pond owners also use a pond aerator to circulate water throughout the entire pond.

Why Choose a Pond Fountain?

  • Stunning Aesthetics: With a range of fountain styles, lights, and spray patterns, our pond fountains provide a beautiful display.
  • Effective Pond Aeration: Our pond fountains circulate and bring oxygen into the water, stopping it from going stagnant and stale.
  • Improve Water Quality: Get rid of algae, debris, and nasty odors, creating a safe environment for pond life.
  • Easy Installation: All our fountains are quick and easy to install. Our team is more than happy to help.

Types of Fountains

1. Commercial Pond Fountains

There's a reason so many hotels, properties, golf courses and events have fountains on or around the property. Fountains get attention and commercial grade fountains REALLY get attention. Often using a much higher horsepower, some commercial fountains spray as high as 80 feet in the air. We have worked with hotels, golf courses and even Major League Baseball's All Star Event to include commercial grade fountains and Your Pond Pros has the fountain to get you noticed.

2. Solar Powered Fountains

Outdoor Water Solutions Aerify Solar Fountain in a pond with a gazebo and solar panel in a park setting

Don't have power but need a fountain for your pond? Not a problem with solar powered fountains. Using the power of the sun, solar power offers a solution that will keep your pond healthy while using no electricity. Having an electrician come out to send power to a remote location can often be very costly. Our solar powered fountains eliminate that problem and allow you to add the beauty to your pond you've always wanted.

3. Multi Display Fountains

Tired of seeing the same spray pattern from your fountain every day? Change it up! Many of our pond fountains come with interchangeable nozzles, making it easy to change the look of your fountain and often times, looking like a brand new fountain! And making the change is easy. Most multi display fountains use a threaded nozzle to create patterns. Simply unscrew the current nozzle and screw on the new nozzle and you're all set.

4. Floating Fountains

Most of the pond fountains and lake fountains you'll find at Your Pond Pros are floating fountain designs. What does that mean? Exactly as it sounds. A large, usually plastic disc that houses a pump below, floats on the water, anchored down by tie ropes. This makes moving the fountain around very easy. These types of fountains are easily installed and create stunning views for a lake or pond.

5. Pond Fountains With Lights

What better way to display your fountain than with beautiful colors at night. Most of our pond fountains come with the option to add lights. Whether they be the classic white lights or color changing LED lights that allow you to customize the effects and colors to suit any occasion, you can never go wrong with illuminating your fountain. Lighted fountains are often used as a focal point for guests to enhance the atmosphere and add a bit of elegance to any occasion.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pond Fountains

Is a Fountain Good For a Pond?

Fountains don't just look pretty — they offer a range of benefits for your pond or lake. Pond fountains naturally aerate the water, which gets rid of stale and stagnant water, improving oxygen levels. This does wonders for your pond's health, such as:

  • Preventing algae overgrowth
  • Clearing murky or muddy water
  • Getting rid of nasty smells
  • Creating a good ecosystem for fish and plant life

Should I Buy a Pond Fountain or a Pond Aerator?

It depends on the size of your pond and your goals. A pond fountain is ideal if you're looking for a decorative water feature and surface-level aeration in a pond less than 4–6 feet deep. A pond aerator oxygenates deeper layers of water, improves circulation, and supports better overall pond health, especially in larger or deeper ponds. If your main goal is aesthetics, go with a fountain. If it's water quality and fish health, choose a pond aerator. For many pond owners, the best setup is a combination: a fountain for beauty, backed by an aerator for deeper oxygenation and long-term ecosystem support.

Do Fountain Pumps Use a Lot of Electricity?

You may be surprised (and happy) to hear that fountain pumps are incredibly energy efficient. The amount of energy they use depends on the model type and size, but overall, our pumps do the job without hiking up your electricity bill. Check out our solar pond fountains to keep your pond healthy without using electricity at all.

Should a Pond Fountain Run All the Time?

For a fountain that's already established and running, yes — continuous operation keeps water constantly circulating and oxygenated, which is exactly what produces the best long-term results. The one exception is when you're first starting up a new fountain on a pond that's never had aeration or circulation before, especially an established pond that's grown stagnant. As we cover in more detail on our pond aerators page, suddenly circulating water that's been sitting still for a long time can stir up an oxygen-depleted bottom layer all at once, which can shock fish. Ease a new fountain in with shorter run times for the first several days before moving to continuous operation, particularly if your pond has visible algae or muck buildup already.

Once established, if energy cost is a concern, running your fountain more during the hottest parts of the day — when your pond is most likely to suffer from stagnant water and low oxygen — is more effective than running it intermittently at random.

Should You Remove a Pond Fountain in the Winter?

This depends on where you live. If temperatures are unlikely to drop to freezing, you may not need to remove your fountain at all. In a much colder climate, winterizing your fountain protects the fountain itself, the pump, and its components. Keep in mind you'll need aeration or a de-icer in winter to avoid your pond freezing over completely — especially important for a fish pond, since freezing temperatures can harm or kill fish in extreme cases. See our full breakdown in Pond De-Icer vs. Aerator: Which One Do You Need?, or check out our de-icers and ice eaters to keep your pond safe through winter.
