Matala Pond Vacuum Pro
A 9.5-gallon pond vacuum with 85% more tank capacity than the Pond Vac II — longer vacuum runs, fewer drain cycles, and reach down to 6 ft deep for hobby ponds up to about 10,000 gallons.
The Pond Vacuum Pro uses the same proven auto fill-and-drain design as the Pond Vac II, but with a much larger 9.5-gallon tank. It vacuums for roughly 70 seconds until the tank is full, shuts off automatically, drains through the discharge hose in about 35 seconds, then restarts on its own. The sludge bag catches coarse debris, and the dirty water can go straight to your garden beds or a yard drain.
Its high-quality German 1.5 HP motor delivers suction comparable to a 2 HP unit while using less energy. Five extension tubes let you reach depths up to 6 ft, and it removes algae, sludge, dead plants and leaves up to 3/8 in. in diameter. For best draining, set the tank up high so the discharge hose outlet sits lower than the bottom of the tank.

How is the Pro different from the Pond Vacuum II?
The Pro has a 9.5-gallon tank versus 5.3 gallons, so it vacuums about twice as long per cycle, and its extension tubes reach up to 6 ft deep. It uses an efficient 1.5 HP motor with suction comparable to a 2 HP unit.
Why does it stop and start?
When the tank fills, the motor shuts off so the tank can drain — about 70 seconds on, 35 seconds off. If you want non-stop vacuuming, look at the dual-motor Power-Cyclone.
My tank drains slowly — what should I check?
The Pro drains by gravity, so place the tank up high with the discharge hose outlet lower than the bottom of the tank.
Can I send the water back into my pond?
